Mission and Philosophy

Great Care Begins with a Great Plan.

The days following a cancer diagnosis can stir feelings of uncertainty, urgency and apprehension. Naples Cancer Advisors exists to improve the care of cancer patients seeking a second opinion so that they walk away with a thorough understanding of their diagnosis and confidence in their plan of care.

We believe that great care begins with a great plan and in doing so we hope to take those feelings of chaos out of a cancer diagnosis through our team-oriented, mission-driven approach to making second opinions more accessible.

A Collaborative Approach

The way we work makes second opinions for cancer treatment worth every minute of your time.

Our expectation is that the interaction with our cancer advisors is a one-time, comprehensive evaluation and recommendation. Your Naples Cancer Advisors team will not replace your primary oncology providers. We support them through:

  • Extra time and more research, all on your behalf.

  • Availability to advise your team of treating physicians

  • Clear, efficient communication, in-person or through telemedicine.

Our collaborative process is multi-layered, leaving no stone unturned:

  • We utilize multidisciplinary subspecialty expertise to give you an accurate assessment of your disease.

  • Our clinical, pathological and radiographic review of your clinical history, physical findings, radiographic images and pathological slides helps to provide much-needed peace of mind with respect to your initial diagnosis.

  • Our team approach with input from appropriate specialists leads to a great plan of care.

Finally, we recommend a course of action utilizing our physician specialists with expertise for your particular diagnosis and cancer treatment.

Physician Resources

We are your partners in patient cancer care. Our collaborative approach employs global resources while providing patients with the time and resources they deserve during this difficult time.

This allows for greater understanding of your patients' diagnosis and empowers them to feel confident in their course of treatment. Each patient remains fully under your care.

I had a lengthy consultation with Naples Cancer Advisors. It was so easy to schedule on-line. I had no idea that a virtual visit with Dr. Leming, Jill Hunt, NP & Lana Uhrig, RN could be so comprehensive, informative & reassuring. They had done a complete review of my medical records. A  detailed head to toe history of my health, my family history & work exposures was taken. I am so grateful for their clinical expertise & recommendations. Dr. Leming also reached out to consult with my treating doctors to assure best outcomes. All of this at NO COST!

Cincinnati Cancer Foundation's 20/20 Foresight Program

“20/20 hindsight” refers to someone wishing that they had chosen a different path. Our 20/20 Foresight program is designed to help you choose an excellent path from the start in your cancer journey.

An excellent plan of care is critical to the optimal outcome for your cancer treatment. Multiple approaches are possible for many diagnoses and choosing the best available approach should generally be expected to provide the best possible outcome. Optimizing treatment plans for patients diagnosed with cancer in the Southwest Florida region is one very important way of helping to improve outcomes for patients in our region.

The goal of the 20/20 Foresight Program is to provide reassurance that initial treatment plans are optimal or recommendations for improvement when appropriate. The review of records, slides and scans and our interview with you will be objectively performed by an outstanding, experienced team that will not assume your care. In this way, our experts will remain objective regarding recommendations. Our approach is to refer you back to your original treatment team with reassurance and/or recommendations. If you choose to seek care elsewhere, that will be at your discretion.

“I am a firm believer that you have to be passionate about what you do. I can’t help people fight a battle like cancer if I don’t have a fervent focus on the entire journey!”
